Spring Luncheon and Cake Auction

The ICJSL held its 2nd Annual Spring Luncheon and Cake Auction on May 5, 2007 at the Holiday Inn in Coralville. The luncheon is a celebration of the member's accomplishments for the year and recognizes those who went above the call of duty. The 2007 Member of the Year was Andrea Kout, and the New Member of the Year, was Jenny Fitzpatrick. Mary Palmberg was recognized for her outstanding commitment and contributions to the Iowa City Area, and also gave the keynote address. 
 
As a continuation from last year's event, the ICJSL presented the Shelter House with a check for $12,500.00 as a second installment of our pledge of $50,000.00. We are almost at half of the pledge after one year of fundraising.
 
The event also includes a cake auction that proceeds the Shelter House as well. The cakes are donated by area pastry chefs from New Pioneer Co-Op,  Jimake Cakes, HyVee Waterfront, Deluxe, Java House, Bread Garden, Cookie Mom, Olive and James, and HyVee First Avenue.

Centerpieces were also sold in which a proceed was donated by The Mansion.
